HAND WROUGHT COPPER AND FORGED BRONZE FRAMED California Art Pottery hand incised tile, measuring

14” X 9”, mid-20th C. Excellent original condition, some minor rubs to copper.

Provenance:  Acquired from a retired L.A. celebrity collector of period Arts and Crafts Movement objects. 

The mixed metals frame has incredible detailing and is surprisingly heavy (it feels like 10 pounds), but it is ready to hang. The renowned Bushier and Son custom-made the frame for the prior owner.

The high-quality frame is both welded and covered all around both the front and back of the tile, as the L.A. crowd sometimes used for outside covered garden patios (in mild climates) and abundantly 

inside decorations.

Beautiful stylized  arts and crafts oak landscape —the California Art Pottery framed tile measures 14” X 8”  and has five color glazes (all needing to be fired separately ) 

Organic hand-incised outlines featuring high points and detailed tree bark of the large dark green oak tree. The landscape shows the oak tree hanging over a light blue winding riverbank.

It shows two small hill levels with detailed bushes, all against the horizon of large, puffy white clouds!
